Robert Weibel

Currently the Founding Executive Director of the Centre for European Negotiation and Decision-Making (CENAD), Brussels, Robert has focused exclusively on the training, coaching and counselling of practitioners professionally involved in diplomatic, international, institutional and business negotiation processes, mediation / conflict resolution, chairing / presidency and crisis management issues since 1986. He is a faculty member to a number of universities and training institutes such as the Geneva Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies, the Diplomatische Akademie, Wien, and was a Visiting Senior Lecturer at the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) from 1989 until 1997.

At a European level Robert has worked closely with 33 EU Council Presidencies and trained over 40 ministers as well as many hundreds of chairpersons, heads of delegations and coordinators, most recently for the Czech Republic, Sweden, Poland, Ireland, Lithuania, Greece, Latvia, Luxembourg and Netherlands. The national ministries and MFAs of Greece, Portugal, Bulgaria, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Denmark, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Italy, Spain, France, Estonia, Poland, Malta, Slovakia, Lithuania, Cyprus, Ireland, Hungary, Belgium and Germany continue to call upon his services. The 3 European Institutions and the EEAS have commissioned consultancies as well as the European Central Bank, National Central Banks and European Supervisory Authorities.

Apart from the above there has been close cooperation both at HQ and field levels with major International Organisations: the U.N. (UNHCR, ITC, WHO, UNCTAD, INC/UNFCCC, INC/D, WMO, OCHA, UNAMI, ILO, UNSSC), the International Organization for Migrations (IOM), North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as well as with numerous OSCE member states both in Vienna and in-country. Finally, he has engaged intensively in diplomatic training and coaching activities worldwide since 1987.
