How does one get the attention of sought-after journalists who receive hundreds of emails every day? How do you convince them to pass on YOUR information? This module helps you better know European journalists' constraints and find the most effective way to reach them. You will improve your writing and press release skills, learn how to perform effectively in media interviews and press conferences, and feel more comfortable in developing a dialogue with European media.

  • To set up an effective press campaign aimed at European journalists based in Brussels;

 PART 1: EUROPEAN MEDIA

 

  • Overview of European media and correspondents present in Brussels.
  • European journalists in Brussels: specific constraints on them and the way they work.
  • Communicating with European media.

Part 2: Workshop on press releases and kits

  • Introduction to general tools
  • How to manage conflicts
  • Measuring impact
  • Practical exercice

Part 3: Media training

  • Specific best practices for working with TV, newspapers, magazines, radio and social media;
  • Press conference preparation, execution and follow-up.

This module can also be followed as part of the diploma in European non-profit communication 

European NGOs, professional bodies, unions, representations of local and regional authorities in Brussels.
